Brother Max Ray Bath and Room Thermometer

This image shows the aqua coloured brother max ray thermometer in the bath surrounded by bubbles and water. It shows a reading of 29 degrees and is indicating that it is coldThe Brother Max Ray Bath and Room Thermometer is cute and accurate, fun and reassuring and safe and reliable. It is easy to use and also doubles up as a fun toy for your baby. It is battery operated which means it is very portable and ideal for checking the ambient temperature of different parts of your baby’s nursery or even different parts of your house. You and your little one can play with ‘Ray’ in the tub and know that beneath his fun exterior he is working hard, constantly measuring the water temperature. Ray is ready to go straight from the box, in fact, you could quite literally take him out of the box, put him in the bath and have an accurate reading within seconds. The Brother Max Ray is fully waterproof as you would expect and doesn’t flip over the wrong way when swished about in the water as other digital bath thermometers tend to do sometimes. He reacts quickly to changes in the water temperature (i.e. when you are adding the hot water) and it is reassuring to see the LCD display change almost instantly when you do this or to blink HOT if you have accidentally put too much hot in or if there is a hotspot. I would recommend this product to be used firstly as a for the bath and secondly as a spare/additional room thermometer. For the price you pay for the Brother Max Ray, you probably can’t go wrong – no matter what you want him for.

A sick cgild is being cuddled by his mum who has the mebbys mothers touch on her hand, she is comforting him and getting an accurate temperature reading at the same time

Mebby Mothers Touch Forehead/Room Thermometer

This is a picture of a product called Mebbys forehead and room temperature thermometer, it shows the product in white displaying a digital reading of 36.4 degrees celciusAs the name suggests, the Mebby Mothers Touch Forehead/Room Thermometer is 2 products in 1. Its primary function is an easy to use digital forehead thermometer, it is different to any forehead thermometer I have ever seen, you simply slip your finger through the band on the rear of the unit and gently place it on your little ones head, it has been designed to make reading your baby’s temperature as easy and pain free as possible for the both of you. If you are considering buying a forehead thermometer then I would recommend this neat little piece of kit. It only takes 6 seconds to produce an accurate reading, gives an audible alarm if your child’s temperature is too high, displays the last recorded reading when you turn it on as well as well as the ambient room temperature. If you are thinking of buying this purely for its secondary function (ambient room temperature thermometer) then I would bear in mind that the whole purpose of this design is to make reading your baby’s body temperature easy, it will probably serve you well as a spare (or as a ‘just to double check’ room thermometer) or one to give to the Grandparents for overnight stays/take on holiday with you but as far as room thermometers go, there are plenty more to choose from. However, for its main purpose, to read your baby’s body temperature, I would recommend it. You can rest assured that you will own an accurate, easy to use, digital thermometer that gives you great peace of mind and has been designed with the comfort of your baby in mind, when your baby isn’t feeling too well, the chances are she is going to be tired and sensitive and the smallest thing will upset her and make her cry, it can often be a battle trying to give your little one medicine 3-4 times a day as well as checking her temperature regularly. Mebby Mothers Touch helps to make that part easier on the both of you, all that is needed is a slight caress of your baby’s head and you instantly have an accurate temperature reading.

Good Points

  • Small and portable
  • easy to use
  • Produces a reading quicker than most other thermometers out there
  • Can be used to measure the room temperature too
  • designed to make taking your baby’s temperature easy

Negative Points

  • Not designed to be left on all night as a room thermometer

Philips AVENT SCH550/20 Bath and Room Thermometer

This shows the SCH5520 bath and room thermometer, the lcd screen is off and nothing displayed. It is shaped like a flower and the petals are blue.Philips AVENT SCH550/20 Bath and Room Thermometer is accurate, durable, safe and pretty. It is designed to look like a flower (for the girls) but with blue petals (for the boys). It has been primarily designed to be a bath thermometer (rubber petals, waterproof enclosure) but also doubles up as a good room thermometer. To test the bath water you simply have to place it into the bath and it will quickly give you an accurate digital reading, there is a reminder on the display to ensure you are aware that 37 degrees Celsius is the ideal bath temperature. It can take a few seconds to re-adjust if you are adding cold/hot water, the easiest thing to do at this point is to take it out of the water, allow it to read the room temperature and then place it back in the bath. There have been a few points raised that it turns upside down in the bath and is therefore no more than an upside down bath toy, this isn’t the case if you place it in the water facing the right way and don’t swish it about too much. It does however double up as a good bath toy and is perfectly safe for your baby to handle and suck (as most babies do). This is ideal for you if you are looking for an accurate bath and room thermometer but don’t want to splash out on both, it is also very handy for holidays as it is small enough to be packed and being battery powered means it is very portable, you can even test the swimming pool temperature with it to make sure it’s not too cold. If you buy this thermometer you will feel confident that your baby always has a safe bath temperature and safe room temperature.

Good Points

  • Good, no-nonsense easily read LCD display
  • Quick reading and small enough that it looks good and not too cumbersome.
  • It also doubles up as a toy in the bath
  • It reads the temperature quickly when you put it in the water for your baby’s bath and when taken out from the water it immediately reads the room temperature as well

Negative Points

  • Sometimes it tips over the wrong way in the bath
  • Can be slow to respond to changes in water temperature.

I hope you found my review helpful.
